Abstract:
The horizontal ultimate capacity of the specimen is in direct proportion to the longitudinal reinforcement area at the core, area of ties and dimension of core, but in reverse proportion to the axial compression ratio; the ultimate displacement angle of the specimen increases proportionally with the increase in the area of ties, and only in a range of moderate amount, the longitudinal reinforcement area at the core can increase the ultimate displacement angle of the specimen; the dimension of core has little effect on the ductility of the specimen, whereas the compression ratio has slight effect on its horizontal capacity.
