Abstract:
Taking Taishan Bridge, an ancient stone arch bridge, as an example, through field survey and numerical analysis on spatial bearing performance of stone arch bridge, it is found that the maximum vertical displacement of arch ring happens at the middle part of midspan and that first destructive cracks are generated on auxiliary components at upper part of arch ring and arch angle. It is suggested that during maintenance and protection of ancient stone arch bridge, auxiliary components at upper part of arch ring and arch angle base is reinforced at first; low-compressibility lightweight filling with good water stability may be used to replace the original back arch filling, meanwhile, monitoring is carried out on deformation of stone arch bridge.
