Abstract:
In this paper, a project in soft soil region was illustrated with a great deal of PHC piles floating upwards in a deep excavation of a high-rise building because of soil uplift caused by the widespread construction. A new reinforcement method on floating piles with its characteristic of free falling hammer restriking combined highstrain dynamic monitoring method was put forward and introduced. After the comparison of other reinforcement methods, the research of pile properties during the reinforcement process and the analysis of reinforcement mechanism, the validity and controllability in greatly improving the floating piles capacity of this reinforcement method were verified.
