Abstract:
The paper introduced the value of BIM technology, which emphasized on the information aggregation from multi-systems, data mining from massive materials and reusability of best practices. It also gives the analysis for the difficulty of BIM technology applying in our projects, which include the hard work to deploy the software suite of BIM system, the low level capability of project management and the lack of standards. Finally, the paper unveils three possible patterns for the development of BIM technology in China, research into competitive advantage pattern, total life cycle pattern and total-project-management pattern.
