Abstract:
A carbon accounting system for industries in industrial parks, which would calculate the carbon emissions from energy consumptions and industrial processes respectively, was established. Industrial Park for Environmental Science & Technology in Yixing was adopted as a case to demonstrate the application of the accounting system. The characteristics of carbon emissions from industries in industrial parks in China would be analyzed via the case study. The results illustrated that:the carbon emissions from energy consumptions would account for 58.6%~66.2% of the total carbon emissions;coal would contribute 60.6%~73.6% to the carbon emissions from energy consumptions;cement production and electricity production and supply industries would contribute more than 77% to the carbon emissions from energy consumptions;cement production industries would also be the main source of carbon emissions from industrial processes. Moreover, a set of potential carbon reduction recommendations were proposed. Readjusting industry structure, increasing clean energy utilization, strengthening carbon reduction from cement production and electricity production and supply industries and so on, would be the key points to reduce the carbon emissions from industries in industries parks.
