Abstract:
Seismic collapse assessment of structure system based Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) includes thousands of time history analyses, and the work is heavy and tedious, so automated analysis control method is needed. The paper developed a control program by Matlab and software interface technology, which takes advantage of ‘system’ command to launch ANSYS and LS-DYNA software in turn to finish modeling, solution, and postprocessing work, further more, determining the next operation according to the result of last analysis and beforehand chosen collapse criterion. As a result, the tedious tasks of switching and scaling earthquake waves, capturing collapse point become automated so that collapse assessment based IDA can be easily performed.
