Abstract:
The underground works of Huabiaotao Bay project in Guangzhou is adjacent to the Zhujiang River. Its foundation pit covers a plane area of about 1171m×521m, facing complex surrounding conditions and high groundwater level. There are five basement floors and its excavation depth is 20.51m. Punching filling pile and four pieces of prestresed cable were used as support, thin wall diaphragm wall was set along one side of Zhujiang River and mixing pile and water-stop curtain wall were set outside piles along the other side, while double-pipe high-pressure rotary spray pile was added among piles. New construction processes and techniques were developed and used, such as mixing pile water-stop curtain wall, punching filling pile, prestressed cable, deep foundation pit construction monitoring, anti-floating anchor rod, underground waterproofing and bottom anti-crack and steel tube concrete, etc., producing valuable study and application results.
