Irregular Joint in Weak Axial Connection

Abstract:
In order to study cantilever beam bolted-splicing of irregular joints weak axis connecting forms of failure pattern and seismic performance,the software ABAQUS were chosen to analyze the irregular joints.The failure pattern, hysteresis curve, skeleton curve,energy dissipation factor, stiffness degradation curve, bearing capacity, and ductility, etc.were analyzed, and compared with the standard specimen under cyclic loading. The results show that its bearing capacity and stiffness were decreased, but the ductility and energy dissipation factor were significantly improved. In a word,this new irregular joint has better aseismic ability than standard specimen.
