Abstract:
Technical Code for Metal and Stone Curtain Walls Engineering (JGJ 133-2001) is established for aluminium alloy profiles in 1990s. Provisions of subclause 5.6.6 is not applicable to steel structure, but curtain wall steel structure has adopted welding technology for more than a decade and has successfully survived the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake. At present, welded steel structure has been comprehensively used in many large public buildings and high-rise buildings, and it has been proved that there is no problem for curtain wall steel structure to adopt welding technology. The revised code for curtain wall has covered relevant provisions for welding problems of curtain wall steel structure.
