Abstract:
Based on the research of RCS composite joints at home and abroad, the failure modes of RCS composite joints and corresponding detail measures in the joint core are analyzed. According to mechanical characteristic of RCS composite joints, action mechanisms of shear resistant elements in the joint core are discussed. The methods to calculate shear strength of RCS composite joints are compared by calculation of RCS composite joints specimens, and existing problems are pointed out. It can be concluded that strength-based formulas provided a conservative calculation for interior joints, and the variability of results of deformation-based formulas is relatively small. Some recommendations for future research of RCS composite joints are proposed. This paper is hoped to be used as reference for further study of RCS composite frame structure.
