Abstract:
The majority of energy consumption of building structure is through windows. Among various parameters of glass windows, thermal transmission coefficient (K value) and shading coefficient (Sc) are the most influential factors. The paper introduced the development of energy saving standard in China and at overseas, emphasized on the importance of windows in energy saving of building, and described the basic evaluation methods of properties of windows. It analyzed the influence of K and Sc values of glass on external window. The paper calls for industrial attention to the energy-saving effect of glass on doors and windows.
