Abstract:
Large-diameter monopole is widely used as foundations for offshore turbines. To resist the lateral loads from turbine blades, wings are installed on top of the pile. In this paper, a 3-dimensional finite differential model is established to simulate the large-diameter steel tubular pile is established. Then laws of pile-soil interaction is discussed, considering the effect of wings. At last, a series of parametric studies are carried out to investigate the effect of wings, and some practical results and conclusions are achieved.
