Abstract:
The characteristics were checked that the clay would swell in water, by using the methods of wetting-drying cycle and limiting soil expansion. The paper found law that the shear strength of clay would drop dramatically while its density reduced to a certain value, and proclaimed the causes for the slope instability of the flexible supporting slope after rain.
