Abstract:
Many school houses are of precast slab and brick masonry structure which has relatively poor integral stability and where floor slab may collapse easily and cause casualty. After analysis on damage characteristics of house built of precast floor slab and comparison among such strengthening methods as binding carbon cloth on slab bottom, attaching overlapped layer on floor slab, sticking steel sheet web or steel strand web on slab bottom, it is found that the method sticking steel sheet web on precast floor slab bottom is a preferred strengthening method, because it could not only increase integrity and improve bearing capacity, but also solve the problem of insufficient supporting length.
