Abstract:
A medical general building is a high-rise structure beyond code limits, because it has irregular torsion, discontinuous floor slab, dimensional variation and tower building offsetting, etc. Various measures are adopted, such as increasing aseismic grade, adding more components and optimizing steel bar reinforcement, etc. After model calculation, these measures could satisfy the building requirements. It is found that torsional effect of structure could be effective controlled by adding shear wall at podium building; beams, columns and slabs between main building and podium building are strengthened to guarantee reliable connection.
