Abstract:
In order to study mechanical behavior of steel-encased concrete composite beams, 4 specimens are designed and produced to carry out monotonic static flexural loading performance test. Based on the data of mid-span deflection, strain of concrete and steel, crack width, the curves of load-deflection, load-strain and strain distribution along beam height are drawn and analyzed. It is concluded that failure modes of composite beams are all flexural failure; this kind of composite beams has superior mechanical characters, high bearing properties and excellent ductility; Average strain of section conforms plane section assumption.
