Abstract:
A model was developed for the falling film flow state analysis for horizontal elliptical tube of spray heat exchanger using the rule of plotting ellipse, which was approximately constructed by three circular arcs. The use of the method to calculate the film thicknesses on the surface of the plotting ellipse was discussed. The comparisons between the falling film thickness calculation results and literature show good agreement in case of the variation of the angel of the elliptical surface and the spray density. The paper provides information useful for the optimization of the sewage-side surface configuration of the spray heat exchanger for sewage heat pump system.
