Abstract:
Muck can not be discharged out of excavated chamber of EPB(earth pressure balance) shield immediately due to the following three main reasons: geological characteristics (such as proportion, size and shape of granule), performance of shield machine and construction operation, etc., and this may cause engineering risk and mechanical failure. By analyzed reason, risk and classification, it can provide related countermeasures against muck blocking in EPB shield project , such as mechanical design, manufacture and construction.
