Abstract:
Shallow tunnels excavated underneath surface buildings often cause ground settlements and structure deformation which bring threats to structural safety. To solve the problems such as water seepage and excessive settlements encountered in the excavation of a certain regional tunnel below ground structures in the first stage construction of Qingdao subway project, this paper conducted numerical simulation on the basis of field monitoring data. Numerical calculation has revealed the range of influence to the buildings from underground construction. A proper scheme of grouting was determined according the results of numerical simulation. Research in this paper showed that the adoption of deep-hole grouting and radial grouting combined with sleeve-valve-pipe grouting were of great positive effect to ensure the safety of buildings above tunnels.
