Abstract:
Based on engineering practices, various strengthening methods for the single-span reinforced concrete frame structure widely used in middle and elementary school buildings, such as adding shear wall, wing wall and aseismic brace, adding frame beam and column, strengthening of structural members, etc., are compared with each other. It is summarized that the adopted strengthening scheme should satisfy the requirements of related codes, and should ensure the reasonability of the structural plan layout which results in similar lateral stiffness and dynamic characteristics in the two principal axis directions and the absence of weak structure layer. In addition, the selected strengthening method should also be conducive to reduce the adverse impact on the original structure as well as the construction cost.
