Abstract:
Based on the friction principle and the equilibrium condition of geometry relationship, the formulas that can be used to determine the fixed point in theory are derived under the asymmetric arrangement of pre-stressing tendons in the tensioning stage. For the two commonly used curve tendons, circular curve and parabola, the formulas are given to calculate the bending angle θ and curve length s and the fixed point in theory (the stress balance point). An engineering example is shown that the proposed formula is simple and practical, and it is accurate by compared with the Midas/Civil software method.
