Abstract:
Typical rural residential buildings in Pingliang City of Gansu Province were studied and DeST simulation software was used to calculate indoor basic room temperature and energy consumption of typical rural residential buildings with different orientations, enclosure structures and ventilation times in January and August. It was concluded that basic room temperature of local typical rural residential building was very low in winter and was comfortable in summer, air conditioner was not required in summer, and residential buildings should better face the south. This paper proposed that planning and construction of new village should consider arrangement of rural residential buildings and that volume of rural residential building should be as small as possible with respectation of local architectural culture.
