Abstract:
Featured with the advantages of convenient construction and rational load-carrying capability, the semi-rigid connections have been applied in the practical engineering. Through the pseudo static test conducted on a single across and one bay steel frame model, the paper studies the deformation of the T steel connection, the energy dissipation, the deformation behavior, the sequence of plastic hinges occurring and the failure mode of the steel frame in order to get the anti-seismic properties of the steel frame in semi-rigid connection. As the test results indicated, the T steel connection has preferable deformability and carrying capacity, which could be widely applied in the seismic regions.
