Abstract:
In order to discuss the seismic effect of prefabricated bridge piers in earthquake zones, three concrete composite specimens with inserted steel tube and prestressed steel strand were fabricated. Quasi-static tests were conduct to investigate the cyclic behavior. Based on the finite element analysis software ADINA, an entity model was built to test its mechanical properties under cyclic load. The experimental results and calculated results fit well. Results indicate that higher prestressing gave greater flexural strength to the composite columns with prestressing and better energy absorption capacity.
