Abstract:
In order to understand force performances about the single branch under compression load of the cast-steel joint with branches in the tree-like column structures. Numerical simulation analysis about the single branch pipe under compression load of a typical cast-steel joint with three branches was carried out. The maximum stress and its distribution were analyzed. The typical failure mode of the single branch pipe was summarized. And then, the formula of calculating the load-carrying capacity of the joint based on the failure model was put forward. The results show that the destruction of the single branch pipe under compression of the joint was in the compression side of the branch pipe, and the local buckling failure occurred in the confluence between the main pipe and branch pipe. The proposed calculation formula of load-carrying capacity based on the branch pipe failure mode can provide a reference for the design of the single branch pipe under large load of the cast-steel joint with branches.
