Abstract:
CITIC Tower is the world's first super high-rise building built in seismic intensity 8 degrees zone with a height exceeding 500 m, its structural height and gross floor area are 528 m and 437 000 m2, respectively. The structural system is a frame-tube structure system. Multi-cavity special-shaped giant columns are located at the four corners of the tower, and it the huge volume of giant columns and large proportion of high grade materials. Giant-column segmentation, on-situ assembly at high-altitude and thick-plate welding are extremely difficult. The paper elaborated the construction of the multi-cavity special-shaped giant column method, points out that the construction of such multi-cavity steel column should consider many factors, which is of great significance to the construction of similar super high-rise buildings construction.
