Abstract:
According to the thermal comfort needs of intelligent building and the influence of thermal comfort on energy consumption, this paper proposed that combined the heat recovery technology with dedicated ventilation system to reduce the pre-cool and reheat part of energy consumption in air conditioning system. In this system, the heat recovery technology from heat pipe heat exchanger can consume no additional energy to achieve the pre-cool and reheat that improves indoor air quality in the dry condition. The results demonstrated that for all case examined, it was found that heat pipe heat exchanger can be applied to save energy in the proposed system compared with the conventional system. The reduction can be approximate to 10% for the dedicated ventilation system. Therefore, the proposed system can be effective used in high temperature and high humidity areas to achieve the energy saving target.
