Abstract:
Based on numerical analysis, the effects of steel frame, the strength grade of concrete and the forms of reinforcement of steel frame as well as the presence of steel mesh on the resistance performance of cable trench cover were analyzed. Then, in accordance with the resistance equivalent principle, a formula for calculating the cover' capacity considering the influence of steel frame was set up. Results showed that the utilization of steel frame could significantly not only improve the resistance
performance of the cover, to increase its bearing capacity of about 3 times, but also reduce its maximum deflection of 75%. Furthermore, the improvement effect of the steel frame on bearing capacity of cover was slightly decreased along with the increase of the strength grade of concrete, and the enhancement
of steel frame with the form of short transverse reinforcement was better than other forms analyzed in this research while the presence of steel mesh had no effect on cover' resistance property. The capacity of the cover taking the steel frame into account could be estimated according to the formula.
