Application of Magnesium Oxide Expansive Agent in Crack Control of Mass Concrete

Abstract:
Using shrinkage compensating concrete based on research on mechanism of magnesium oxide expansive agent, combined with selecting of raw materials and crack control measures in construction and maintenance,the cracking resistance and waterproof performance of mass concrete foundation are improved integrally. The results show that magnesium oxide expansive agent has significant effect in crack control of mass concrete constructed in high temperature season. In the application case, foundation concrete is still in expansion state 28 days after construction, no harmful cracks and leakage phenomenon are found.
